Solid and split-core current transformers (CT’s) are available for use with the WNB-P (pulse output) and the WNC-MB (Modbus output) Energy Meters. Devices with various physical dimensions and current ratings are available. CT’s have 0.333Vac output at rated Full Scale current.
| Split Core Current Transformers
|
Split core CTs have a removable section, so that they can be installed without interrupting the circuit, and they are available in three opening sizes.
- 0.333VAC output at rated current
- Accuracy ±1% from 10% to 130% of rated current
- No exposed metal
- Phase angle <2 degrees
- UL recognized
- 12" leads

CT suffix "-yyy" is the rated amps.
"I.D." is the inside diameter (aperture) of the CT. Note, that for best accuracy, the CT’s should be sized such that the current carrying conductors fill at least 60% of the aperture (opening).
"Max. Amps" is the highest continuous current that the CT can handle without being damaged.
"Max Wire Gauge" is the largest wire gauge that should fit through this size of CT. Wire sizes of 100 or larger are in units of kcmils (formerly MCM), which are used in North America for wire sizes larger than 4/0.
1Note: the CTS-0750-005 and CTS-0750-015 do not meet the published accuracy specifications. For applications where accuracy is important, we recommend using the CTT-0300-005 or CTT-0300-015 instead.

| Solid Core (Toroidal) Current Transformers
|
Toroidal (solid core) current transformers are more compact and accurate. You must interrupt the circuit to be measured in order to install solid core CTs around the conductor. Hence, they are better suited for new wiring or permanent installation.

| Bus-Bar Split-Core Current Transformers

Bus bar CTs are similar to split core CTs, but are available in a wider range of shapes and sizes. They have a removable section, so that they can be installed without interrupting the circuit.
- 0.333VAC output at rated current
- Current ratings from 600A to 3000A.
- Accuracy ±1.5% from 10% to 130% of rated current.
- Phase angle <1.5 degrees
- UL recognized
